The “Capillas de Marmol” (Marble chapels) are a group of strange, but incredibly beautiful rock formations that sit in the General Carrera Lake and are one of the best known attractions of the Carretera Austral.
Declared sanctuaries, the Capillas de Marmol are calcium carbonate formations which over the years have been eroded by the waters of the General Carrera Lake, creating islets which are navigable on small boats.
